Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Code Majesty Tech LLC (“ExpireNot,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the ExpireNot mobile application (the “App”) and the expirenot.com website (the “Website,” and together with the App, the “Services”).

ExpireNot helps you track the expiration dates of personal documents — passports, IDs, vehicle registrations, insurance policies, and similar paperwork — and reminds you before they expire.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address. ExpireNot uses passwordless sign-in: we send a one-time code to your email, so we never collect or store a password.

Document Information

When you scan a document, the App sends the photo to Anthropic PBC (the Claude AI service), our AI processing provider, which extracts:

  • The document type (e.g., passport, driver’s license, insurance policy)
  • The expiration date and, where present, the issue date
  • The document holder’s name

The photo itself is never stored. It is processed transiently for extraction and then discarded. Only the extracted text details listed above are saved to your account. You can also enter or correct these details manually.

Device and Usage Information

To deliver reminders and operate the Services, we collect:

  • A push notification token for your device (if you enable push notifications)
  • Basic technical information such as app version, device type, operating system, IP address, and diagnostic logs
  • Usage information such as the number of scans performed on your plan

Information You Send Us

If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include in your message.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide the Services — track your documents’ expiration dates and show their status
  • Send you expiry reminders by push notification and email (for example at 30, 7, and 1 days before a document expires, or on your custom schedule)
  • Authenticate you with one-time sign-in codes
  • Manage your subscription plan and enforce plan limits
  • Respond to your support requests
  • Maintain, secure, and improve the Services, including diagnosing technical issues

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your document details for advertising.

3. AI Processing

To read a document you scan, ExpireNot sends the photo or PDF — including the personal details printed on it, such as the holder’s name, document number, and expiration date — to Anthropic PBC, the provider of the Claude AI service, which processes it on our behalf.

What we send. Only the document image or PDF you capture or upload. We do not send your email address, account identifier, or any other profile information with it.

Why we send it. Solely to extract the document type, expiration date, holder name, and document or plate number. The result pre-fills the add-document form; nothing is saved until you confirm it.

How long it is kept. ExpireNot never writes the photo to disk, blob storage, or our database — it exists only in memory for the duration of the request, and we keep only a SHA-256 hash so an identical scan can reuse the result for 24 hours. Anthropic processes the image under its commercial API terms, which do not permit using inputs or outputs to train its models, and may retain it only briefly for trust-and-safety purposes before deletion. We have confirmed that these terms provide confidentiality and security protections equivalent to those described in this policy.

Your choice. We ask for your explicit permission in the App before your first photo is ever sent, and you can decline and enter every document’s details manually instead. The same disclosure is available at any time under Profile → About → AI & Your Data. Anthropic’s own privacy practices are described at anthropic.com/privacy.

4. Service Providers

We share information only with service providers who help us operate the Services, and only to the extent needed for them to do so:

  • Cloud hosting — our servers and database that store your account and document details
  • AI processing — Anthropic PBC (Claude AI), transient extraction of details from document photos, as described above
  • Email delivery — sending sign-in codes, reminders, and service emails
  • Push notifications — delivering reminders to your device
  • Subscription management — processing App Store and Google Play subscription status

Purchases are billed by Apple or Google. We never receive or store your payment card details.

5. Data Retention

We keep your account information and document details for as long as your account is active. If you delete a document, its details are removed. If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal obligations.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can delete individual documents or your entire account from within the App, delete your account on the web at app.expirenot.com/account-deletion (no app install needed), or contact us at hello@expirenot.com and we will assist you.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data appropriately for its sensitivity.

8. Website, Cookies, and Analytics

The Website is informational. Like most websites, our servers keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and pages visited). If we use analytics or cookies beyond what is strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent where the law requires it.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International Users

We are based in the United States and process data there and in the regions where our service providers operate. By using the Services, you understand that your information may be processed outside your country of residence.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and adjust the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice in the App or by email.
